The Power of Spirit

                                Make a Difference Day

Each year, I am touched by the outpouring of support we receive here at PHE.  Once again, Make a Difference Day was a huge success.  Dinos of all ages volunteered their time for this beautification effort.  As I walked around our school, I took note of all the wonderful improvements to our campus grounds.  The yards were litter-free.  Our class line up order was rearranged to ease transitions to from the playground to the classroom.  The hallways had been wiped clean.  Our kindergarten hall had been graced with a new decorative path to connect the classrooms!  And keeping with tradition, the dino prints received some fresh paint.  I am very grateful for all the hard work and love that went into the completion of these projects. 




Fun Run

The Fun Run serves two purposes here at PHE: 
1) It provides vital funding to enhance our technology and PE programs.
2) It provides curriculum to support our character education program. 
The Fun Run continues to be one of the most successful fundraisers of the year!  We set a lofty goal of raising $35,000, and it looks like we exceeded our pledging expectations. Although the Fun Run event is over, we will continue to review the character traits of:  integrity, citizenship, teamwork, growth mindset, and zest during our bimonthly Character Assemblies throughout the school year.   Thank you, PTA, for orchestrating this fundraising extravaganza!




                                                      School Spirit

The school year has gotten off to a great start!  I have enjoyed seeing our dino family show their spirit in many ways throughout the past couple of weeks.  Many classrooms have had crazy hair, pajama, crazy sock, and school spirit days to celebrate their Fun Run fundraising success.  We also added a welcome sign in the front of the school!  Throughout the rest of the school year, we will continue with our customary PHE Spirit Wear Fridays.  Speaking of spirit, be on the lookout for upcoming information regarding Red Ribbon Week spirit day themes and our Halloween dress guidelines.
