Dino Community - Let Your RAWR Be Heard

Dino-Might Students
During the month of February, classrooms across our school celebrated Black History month and our Dinos continued their focus on kindness.  Valentines day was used as an opportunity to show thanks and appreciation for those around us.  Also in February, our PTA sponsored a well-received Science assembly which kicked off the STEAM Fair in the evening.  Our superintendent, Dr. Martinez, popped by to check out the student displays.  In addition to the STEAM Fair, our Dino Parents came out in force to attend the Pleasant Hill Area Choir Festival at College Park.  As always, these evening events bring our community together in celebration of our students' learning!

Life-long Learning Teachers
Our teachers have been kept very busy creating and recreating learning environments for students.  On February 10th, our teachers participated in collaborative math conversations with other elementary teachers in our feeder pattern.  The goal was to connect our educators with Hidden Valley, Gregory Gardens, Strandwood, and Valhalla to share best teaching practices.  Also during the month of February, we continued our work with AVID by having all classrooms use "one pagers" to help students demonstrate learning.

                                                      Powerful Parent Support

Throughout the month our parents have remained supportive and connected to our school in many ways. I want to extend a huge thank you to the parents who have volunteered their time to supervise lunch recess, teach FAME lessons, and run our student store.  Our school is a better place because of you!  If you have't done so, please remember to complete the Cal-SCHLS parent survey.  The information you provide will help guide district and school efforts to promote safety, enhance learning supports, and improve student achievement.
