The Dinos Are Back!

Back to School
I am filled with gratitude for everyone who has worked so hard behind-the-scenes to get our campus ready for the 2017-2018 school year.  Over the summer, before the year had officially begun, our school facilities underwent an overhaul.  Our restrooms were remodeled, and we received some much-needed repairs to our walkways and parking lot.  Inside the classrooms, teachers spent many hours getting the rooms ready, unpacking new curriculum, and preparing lessons.  Now school is open and everyone can focus on what's important. . . LEARNING!  It has been wonderful to see all of our students back at school, and settling into the routines of their new grade levels.


During week two, we kicked off the school year with welcome back assemblies.  In these assemblies, we reviewed our PBIS system including school rules and protocols which are designed to foster positive student behavior and improve the climate of PHE.  Later that week, we hosted Back to School Night, which was well-attended despite the extreme heat.  In case you were not able to join us in person, click on this link to view a copy of the presentation:  Back to School Night Presentation

STEAM Lab

During week three, we opened our STEAM Lab!  All students will rotate through this room every other week to experience lessons that incorporate science, technology, engineering, art, and math.  We are very grateful for the support we've received from PHEEF so that we can provide even more opportunities for our students to deepen their 21st century learning skills!

Parent Involvement
Our smooth school opening was possible due to tremendous parent support.  From helping students register during All-In-One-Day to supporting academic programs, parents have helped us every step of the way.  I invite all parents to stay involved, please join PTA and PHEEF so that we can continue to work together to continually improve the learning environment for our Dinos!
