'Tis the Season at PHE

Exploring New Horizons
Our fifth graders embarked upon their Outdoor Education experience at Camp Loma Mar this past month. There was a little piece of our Dino hearts missing while we awaited their return. I was so elated to be able to go out to the Santa Cruz coast and briefly visit with our students. I think they seemed happy to see me, although they seemed more worried about who was taking care of the campus in my absence! I'm glad they had a fun and educational experience, but I'm very happy that they are back!
Practicing Our Gratitude Attitude
In the spirit of giving and supporting our community, our PTA is hosting the Helping Hands Food Drive from 12/2 - 12/17. Food item donations may be dropped off in the collection bins located in the office or classrooms. PHE community, as we enter this holiday season, remember to keep your heart filled with gratitude. How lucky are we to live in a place where we have so many opportunities to learn, grow, and bond with our community? Now that is not to say that things are always perfect, but choosing to focus on our commonalities, finding the "silver lining" even during disappointing times, can help lift our spirits and keep us moving forward. . . together. Gratitude Assembly Lower Grades / Gratitude Assembly Upper Grades
The first trimester had come to a close, just as the holiday season is revving up. During the month of December, we only have three short weeks before Winter Break. That means we have a lot of learning to pack into such a small amount of time. Please take note we will be hosting Parent Teacher conferences from 12/9- 12/20 which means that most of our students will be following an early dismissal schedule each of these days.
Whichever holiday you celebrate, may your season be full of peace and gratitude!
